Administrative Assistant IV, Student Services – District Administration Building

This is an 8 hour/day, 12 month position under the Classified Bargaining Unit.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, performs a wide variety of office management and clerical tasks, including facilitating communications between supervisor, parents, and staff; manages files and other systems; collects and analyzes information; prepares oral and written reports; and performs related work as required.

Employees at this level serve as an informational liaison between the administrator, teachers, other district personnel, and the general public. Employees at this level must exercise a high degree of independent judgment and professionalism.

Prepares disabled students’ IEP’s and progress reports; types purchase orders and keeps books for Student Special Services Department; coordinates home instructors for needed students; helps prepare and type applications for grants, evaluations for funds for disabled children; and prepares quarterly reports for handicap funds.

Knowledge of:

Business English, spelling, punctuation, and mathematics;
Current office practices, procedures, keyboarding, and equipment;
Use and navigate computer technology with high degree of proficiency;
Perform word processing and other related software programs;
Rules, regulations, procedures and functions of the district;
Office management principles and ability to apply this knowledge to work problems.

Ability to:

Read, write, and follow oral and written instructions with little supervision;
Work independently on difficult clerical tasks;
Perform word processing with speed and accuracy;
Effectively and politely communicate with students, the public, and other employees;
Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students, fellow employees, and the general public;
Maintain confidentiality in all phases of work, i.e. records, meetings, etc.
Must routinely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance;
Complete all district required trainings.


Three years of general clerical experience.


High school diploma or equivalent as required by Oregon Administrative Rules, Oregon Department of Education.
