Description :
J.T. Mummert Consulting LLC is looking to hire on three (3) Full-Time, Behavior-Communication Consultants (BCC’s), working 25-37.5 hours per week, in the York/Hanover Area of PA. All individuals will start out as Part-Time status during their first 60-days to ensure that they can transition into the required paperwork properly, and then additional hours can be offered. As a Behavior-Communication Consultant (BCC), the qualified candidate(s) will work with adults with disabilities and their teams to find solutions to challenging behaviors. The goal is to find effective replacement behaviors to replace the challenging behaviors. This goal is achieved successfully through consulting with team members and working directly with the client. The BCC will provide services in a variety of settings such as the home, day programming, or in the community. The BCC will also complete required paperwork and provide services as stated in the service definition mandated by the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). BCC’s report to the Behavior-Communication Consultant Manager (BCCM), who has a Masters’ Degree and serves as a direct supervisor and clinical mentor.

Communication Specialist Services: BCC’s may also have to provide Communication Specialist Services. The goal of these services is to consult with clients and their teams to determine the best strategy to develop a formal communication system so the client can effectively communicate their wants, needs, and desires. The BCC will use Alternative Communication (AAC) strategies such as iPads/Tablets, single switch devices, and picture cards. The Behavior-Communication Consultant will receive training on these devices and associated software and report to the BCCM.

Job Details and Job Tasks:
Behavior Consultant:

Conducting Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) to determine why behavior(s) happen.
Developing comprehensive Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) that are function-specific and incorporate positive strategies to support the individual.
Collecting and analyzing data to make informed decisions about plan effectiveness.
Provide in-person support to the individuals and their support teams.
Train participants and their support teams on the BSP.
Collaborate with all team members in the development and implementation of the BSP.
Writing service notes and quarterly reports indicating direction of progress for the individual.

Communication Specialist:

Assessing the client on their communicative need(s).
Collaborating with the client and team members to determine the strategy for developing a formal system of communication.
Training the team and client on how to use the communication strategies discussed by the team.
Monitoring progress on communication development and providing assistance as needed.

General Tasks and Responsibilities:

Attendance at team meetings for assigned clients.
Maintain 85% billable hours per week as a Part-Time employee’s or 30 billable hours per week minimum as a Full-Time employee.
Keeping progress notes up to date on a weekly basis and saved on the team storage system.
Keeping neat and orderly client files.
Responding to emails and communications within 24 hours.
Attend weekly supervision with the BCCM.
Attend monthly JTMC team meetings at the regional office.
Submit timesheets on a weekly basis.
All other duties assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Psychology, Human Services, Education, or related field
At least one (1) year experience in the field of human services. A combination of internship, practicum, part-time employment and related life experiences may be used to satisfy this requirement
Current Act 35 PA Criminal Background Check, ChildLine Clearances, and FBI Clearances, indicating no previous “found” charges of child abuse or convictions that would compromise the person’s ability to perform the job
Valid driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and proof of current care insurance
Ability to work with diverse teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Hours per Week and Location:

We are currently hiring for the York/Hanover County Areas.
The selected candidates will work Full-Time, 25-37.5 hours per week, all BCs will start out as Part-Time for a 60-day probationary period to ensure they can transition into the required paperwork, with the potential for additional hours after that.

Wage:

This position starts out as follows:

Part-Time BCs:

Bachelor’s Degree: $20.00 per Hour
Master’s Degree: $24.00 per Hour

Full-Time BCs:

Bachelor’s Degree BC: 25 Billable Hours per Week (for billable hours – Fee-for-Service): $26,000 per year
Bachelor’s Degree BC: 30 Billable Hours per Week (for billable hours – Fee-for-Service): $31,200 per year
Bachelor’s Degree BC: 32 Billable Hours per Week (for billable hours – Fee-for-Service): $33,280 per year
Master’s Degree BC: 25 Billable Hours per Week (for billable hours – Fee-for-Service): $31,200 per year
Master’s Degree BC: 30 Billable Hours per Week (for billable hours – Fee-for-Service): $37,440 per year
Master’s Degree BC: 32 Billable Hours per Week (for billable hours – Fee-for-Service): $39,936 per year
Full-Time BC (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree): 40 Hours per Week: Salaried Position: Wages will be discussed during interview.

Wages for Admin Time, Training Time and Mileage will be discussed during the interview process.
Benefits and other incentives will be discussed during the interview process as well.

Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Employees = Employees who work a minimum of 25 Billable Hours per Week.
