Benefits Leave of Absence Supervisor The Supervisor coaches and mentors a team of Leave Coordinators, as well as monitors teams’ workload, and forwards or assists with requests for leave reporting metric through third-party leave administrator. The Supervisor assists in development and delivery of training materials. In addition, the Supervisor is responsible for managing his or her own caseload for status changes and time entry in system for accurate payroll processing for employees on leave status. Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and provides guidance to Leave Team to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.

This position is 100% remote and can be performed from anywhere in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:

Oversees the hiring, training, supervision, and performance planning and appraisal of the Leave Team staff.
Supervises the tracking and monitoring of leave-related attendance activity, in coordination with Human Resources, to ensure accurate processing of all applicable paid time off (vacation, sick time, PTO, float, etc.).
Work with internal management as well as third-party leave administrator to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in communications and procedures.
Partners with third-party leave administrator to assist in resolution of complex problems and questions raised by employees, operations management, and local Human Resources contacts.
Communicates and works with a variety of internal and external sources to achieve resolution of issues.
Work with mergers and acquisitions team or other HR contacts as needed to determine actions for employees on leave at time of acquisition.
Audit Advice to Pay (ATP) file for eligibility for short-term disability payments or delegate to leave team for oversight before payments are processed.
Assists with return to work process as needed.
Leave Team compliance with applicable leave laws and company policy
Assists in development and delivery of training materials.
Provides leave reporting metrics to Field and Corporate HR upon request or as needed facilitated through third party vendor.
Management of third-party leave administrator
Performs other related duties and activities as required.
Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree
Three years’ experience in human resources
Prior experience and knowledge of FMLA is required
Prior leave of absence supervisory or lead experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

None required

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
