DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
As directed by the Production Supervisor, with input from the Operations, Engineering & Maintenance Manager, to assist maintenance, production, and shipping departments.
Role and Responsibilities
The Utility Operator is responsible for the processing of sodium ISO containers, unloading raw materials and supplies, loading final product, preparing product for shipment, obtaining in-process samples, conducting some preventive maintenance (PM) work, and as needed, monitoring and controlling production processes using a Distributive Control System (DCS.) The role must be completed safely, while following EHS guidelines.
Perform field duties in process areas. Field duties include the following, and others as directed to support production:
Heating, emptying and switching ISO containers.
Unloading raw materials and supplies, filter changes, sampling, equipment cleaning, product loading and unloading, equipment set up for maintenance, preventive maintenance (PM) duties, product packaging and related activities, provide support to Warehouse (WH#3) as needed
Document inventory, environmental and process readings as required.
Take process and environmental readings, document as required
Learn DCS (Distributive Control System) operation and specific process operations, stay current with changes.
Monitor the process utilizing the DCS and other methods, communicate issues and make adjustments to the process as needed
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic Computer Skills
Essential Skills
Communication, troubleshooting, multitasking, ability to perform work functions with minimal supervision, attention to detail, crucial leadership competencies, decision making, integrity, prioritization.
Earning Potential
Candidates with limited to no experience start out at $21.50 to $24.00 and have an earning potential of $36.50 in 3 years or less.
Candidates with direct experience as a Chemical Operator, DOE.
