Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Clinic Services Representative- Registration II for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the Clinic Service Representative II-Registration is to perform a variety of simple
and complex registration activities at the Eric. B. Chandler Health Center and its affiliate sites under limited supervision.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides efficient and courteous services when scheduling patient’s appointments.
Utilizes computer to process full registration information for new/established patients at every visit.
Determines eligibility for federal and state programs. Determines eligibility and processes applications.
Receives, reviews and responds to routine and complex inquiries from patients, colleagues, practice physicians, State Presumptive Eligibility department staff members.
Performs cashier duties.
Responsible for generating new schedules or daily reports.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement
Under Policy 60.1.35, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility. Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Position Pension Eligibility
Minimum Education and Experience
Two (2) years of experience in physician, hospital or health center billing setting, including management of various types of insurance billing processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
Must be familiar with the billing practices of Medicaid and Medicare and other third party payors.
Requires working with office equipment and confidential patient records and correspondence.
Required to proofread and check documents for accuracy.
Evening and weekend rotations.
Candidates having experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
DEMANDS: This position requires standing, walking, use of hands to finger, handle or feel, ability to reach with hands and arms 1/3 of the time; ability to talk or hear up to 2/3 of the time and sitting over 2/3 of the time. Must have clear vision at 20 inches or less (close vision).
ENVIRONMENT: Moderate noise level.
