Overlake Hospital Medical Center is seeking a temporary Diet Technician. Responsibilities include performing technical nutrition care functions per the department standards or as directed by a Dietitian for disease treatment and prevention. Care functions include: screening for nutrition risk, developing a plan of care, implementation of the care plan, providing nutrition education, and evaluation of nutritional care for selected individuals. Job functions may include components of patient meal service, call center meal order assistance, expediting, tray assembly, and/or delivery of patient meal trays directly to patients.

8 hour shift


Requires one of the following: 1) Associate degree/graduate from a two-year Dietetic Technician program that has been accredited by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) or 2) have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nutrition, or 3) have a Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of one year nutrition coursework in an accredited Master’s Nutrition program.
Food Worker Card Required (issued by county and valid throughout Washington state)
Registration is strongly preferred, but not necessary, through Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
One year experience in a hospital Nutrition Services department preferred.
Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
Knowledge of modified diets required.
Computer experience required.
Demonstrate basic office skills including phones, faxes, computers.
