What to Expect: TCV/Devereux is currently seeking a dedicated and responsible person to fill our Senior Director of Drug and Alcohol Services located on the South Side in Pittsburgh, PA. This senior level director position plays a critical role in fulfilling the mission and vision of TCV/Devereux’s Drug and Alcohol Department, which includes Adult D&A Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient Program, Case management and the Driving Under the Influence Program (DUI). The primary function of these services are to provide a full range of drug and alcohol assessments, treatment and support to adults with substance use disorders.

In collaboration with the Executive Director of TCV/Devereux, this position’s primary purpose is to plan, and oversee the provision of all services to achieve strategic goals and ensure quality customer service; efficient, coordinated and integrated operations; and compliance with applicable regulations. The Senior Director of Drug and Alcohol services position is designed to:

Oversee and ensure the effective and efficient management of the operations, personnel and other resources. Collaborate on strategic planning for the transformation of adult drug and alcohol services at the agency.
Develop annual program objectives and budgets 60 days prior to the beginning of the fiscal year and execute meeting all goals.
Monitor program expenses and revenues monthly to ensure less than a 10% variance.
Display initiative in seeking out means and methods of program expansion and diversity, including the exploration of alternative funding sources.
Identify staff development needs within department and develop an annual staff development plan to include best practice models for each staff member.
Use data to determine program expansion, reduction and resource needs.
Recruit, hire, train staff; complete annual performance evaluations and recommend terminations.
Provide technical assistance, guidance, leadership, coaching and supervision for all program managers. Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Participate in Executive Staff meetings, Compliance, QA/QI and other management meetings within TCV as well as committees and pertinent work groups and provider meetings for county/CCBH. Represent agency to funding sources, other agencies, customers and the public.
Supervise and direct the work of supervisors, therapists, case managers, intervention specialists, support staff, evaluate staff performance; hold staff accountable for meeting departmental and organizational goals.
Provide individual therapist clinical supervision, including reviewing cases and monitoring documentation and administrative procedures; ensure that documentation conforms to agency policies and procedures and funding regulations and requirements.
Hold staff accountable for meeting productivity standards.
Ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures, licensing regulations, payer requirements, ethical standards, and professional codes of conduct.
Manage resources to ensure efficient and effective operations, including customer access and appropriate utilization.
Maintain a case load and provide clinical back up of absentees/vacations to ensure continuity of care and services.
Resolve emergencies and crisis; assess and report critical incidents; take corrective/preventive action as needed.

*Prospective employees hired for this position will receive a $10,000 sign on bonus. The employee will receive the first third of the bonus after the successful completion of three (3) months of employment, the second third of the payment will be awarded after the successful completion of six (6) months of employment, and the final third will be awarded after achieving a “satisfactory” rating or higher on the annual performance evaluation.

Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field.
LCSW or LPC license required.
Psychotherapy/Counseling AND five years of experience in substance abuse services—including at least three years in an administrative and supervisory capacity.
Knowledge of best practices in substance abuse, DDAP regulations required.
Valid PA Driver’s License.
Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
