THIRA Health seeks a skilled Family Nurse Practitioner with excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills. The candidate must have crisis management experience and be able to effectively treat a caseload of adolescent and adult female behavioral health patients in partnership with THIRA’s Medical Team. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an integral part of the THIRA Health treatment team and reports to the Medical Director. The NP must have experience for treating and managing caseload of adolescent and adult psychiatric patients from a family/primary care perspective in partnership with THIRA’s psychiatric prescribers, and all other medical personnel.

Essential Job Duties:
PATIENT CARE

Conduct physical exams to check patient health; order and interpret tests such as CMP, CBC and other routine tests.
Review patient medical histories, make diagnosis and conduct appropriate treatment. Prescribe medication when needed

Conduct weekly patient follow up exams and document patient progress
Collaborate with attending Psychiatrist/Chief Medical Officer and multidisciplinary clinical team to create treatment plans and implement recommendations
Conduct coordination of care with patient’s outside providers
Communicate with outside providers and patient family members regarding medical/medication information as needed
Provide phone-based on-call support to staff and/or patients as needed (based on on-call rotation)

Conduct psychoeducational lectures for various cohorts of patients
Support in utilization review of all patients and interface with third-party payers to advocate for patient reauthorizations
Follow up on any medical/medication related issues as needed
Provide medical support as needed across all of THIRA’s programs (PHP, IOP & Residential)
Maintain infection control standards within our facility
Provide medical support as needed across all the programs inclusive of residential program

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend and actively participate in all required THIRA meetings and trainings
Develop, document and maintain role-specific standard operating procedures
Respond to emergency patient situations – defer to clinicians and contact appropriate help (911) when necessary

Adhere and maintain HIPAA rules & guidelines as well as THIRA’s current Policies & Procedures
All other coverage, duties and special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing
Licensed prescriber in State of Washington with active DEA registration; current license must maintain good standing with the State Licensing Board
Must possess active professional liability insurance; must meet coverage minimums per company policy

Two years (2) minimum experience as a nurse practitioner required; OK for residency year experience to apply. Prior experience as a family nurse practitioner experience required
One-year minimum required experience administering medications, including knowledge of substance abuse treatment
Must possess working knowledge and familiarity with medical coding
Aptitude to learn Electronic Medical Records systems quickly and thoroughly required; Experience and literacy with medical practice software, EMR, preferred. Experience or familiarity with MicroMD PM and EMR applications highly preferred
Must possess strong verbal and written English communication skills

Must possess strong active listening skills with exceptional follow-through on assigned tasks
Must be detail oriented, organized, possess the ability to handle multiple takes simultaneously and follow up on actions based on various assigned duties and/or projects
Must be capable of working effectively and calmly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on THIRA’s core principles, priorities and patient-centered culture
Must be an adaptable self-starter who is able to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment while maintaining focus on THIRA’s core principles, priorities and patient-centered culture

Must be able to interface with all levels of staff, visitors, healthcare professionals, marketers, and the general public in a professional, sensitive, and interpersonal manner
Must be capable of regularly handling highly sensitive and confidential information in a professional and HIPAA compliant manner while abiding by THIRA’s current Policies & Procedures
Must possess strong computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Must be CPR & First Aid certified and/or willing to undergo CPR & First Aid certification process
Must have a smart phone and the ability to use MS Teams on the mobile device for staff instant messaging communications

Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties
