Position : General Manager
Description :
As a General Manager, you will lead, motivate, and develop a sales and operations team within a single location with total sales revenues up to $50M. You will have the opportunity to design and implement effective business strategies and programs, while building and maintaining relationships with customers and manufacturers, generating new business, increasing your team’s productivity, and meeting business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Develops go to market strategy for the specific end market within the business unit. Oversees sales strategies, marketing and overall business strategies.
Oversee location managers in hiring, deploying, and managing outside salespersons to provide coverage of total geographic market segments while assuring adequate potential for individual territory development.
Develops, implements, and adjusts sales plan designed to increase market penetration.
Conducts weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews with personnel to focus on performance against objectives and provide coaching and motivation to achieve objectives.
Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with select suppliers. Ensures location(s) is taking an active role in negotiating customer costs, lower costs and other financially impactful benefits from key suppliers.
Plans, develops, and implements specific actions and programs in accordance with management sales plan.
Develops and implements plans to provide premium customer service and to review performance against objectives regularly.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required.
7 years General Management experience.
7-10 years experience delivering superior customer service in a distribution environment.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling strong alignment within matrix organization.
Experience with strategic and resource planning.
Efficient, effective communication and presentation abilities at EVP level, with ability to tailor approach to best reach intended audience.
Navigate uncertainty with agility and maintains appropriate forward momentum with strong core team engagement.
