5+ years of experience in building and leading Go-To-Market teams, developing businesses from ground up
3+ years of relevant experience in a large startup and/or born in the cloud business
10+ years of relevant leadership experience in the cloud technology-led business development, architecture, advisory, and/or strategy/planning/transformation roles.
Technology depth and breadth in cloud technologies. Be highly credible with senior technologists, product leaders, and CxO audiences.
Exceptional business acumen and high judgment – be able to use technology depth and breadth, signals, and data to understand customer pain points and challenges, and inform and shape business growth initiatives.
Very comfortable with developing, implementing, managing and executing through influence across a cross-functional set of senior stakeholders.
‘Invent and simply’ mindset. Data driven but comfortable with ambiguity. Adept at simplifying complexity and developing scalable propositions.
Strong bias for ‘working backwards’ from customers. Favors iterative hypothesis/test/analyze/ improve approaches.
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams.
Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Director to develop and lead go-to-market for Web3 at AWS. In this role, you will lead a team that will be responsible for working directly with the most interesting and demanding developers, customers, and partners – leading startups and global enterprises – leaders in their respective fields – earning trust to understand customers’ requirements and use cases and turn them into reality. You will get the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams, and develop/mature mechanisms to create, execute and deliver on ambitious business plans. You will build and lead a team that acts as the extension of the AWS product teams for this set of customers, understanding their use cases, gathering customer feature requests and feedback, and influencing roadmap for AWS services.
The ideal candidate will be an innovator and builder, constantly evaluating needs of our customers, studying industry trends, and leveraging Amazon’s resources to identify best ways to support the needs of our very diverse and fast growing customer base. This leader is curious about how we support Web3 developers and passionate about delivering a great customer experience for customers building blockchain-based workloads . The candidate will have successful experience in growth-oriented leadership roles in the technology sector with GTM experience in multiple customer segments. You will have deep cloud domain expertise, and deeply appreciate how AWS can help customers adopt AWS for Web3 workloads. You will need a strong analytical acumen, synthesis, structuring, and problem solving skills to translate ambiguous and often incomplete information into action plans and insights. You will need a strong bias for ‘invention’ and ‘simplification’, demonstrated experience in cross-functional stakeholder management and alignment, solid program management skills, a customer-obsessed and collaborative approach, and strong data and metrics bias. You will also need passion for narrative style writing for business plans and programmatic initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include defining strategic workloads to drive the necessary business and technical relationships with customers and partners. You will also develop mechanisms to establish new business in target market segments and enable the global field organization to drive the day-to-day interactions that identify prospects for long-term business opportunities. You will work very closely with the global Sales, Partner, Product Management and Professional Services teams to identify and prioritize areas of focus and opportunity, as well as drive adoption and market penetration within global markets. As the voice of the customer, you’ll work closely with product teams to help them evolve the products and address issues, concerns, and requests from the field.

MBA/Technical Master’s Degree
Global experience, proven people management and experience leading large, diverse teams
A track record of building rapport with senior customer executives (e.g. CEO, CIO, CTO), building close relationships, and closing large revenue accounts
Experience in building solutions for verticals that drive Storage in combination with other Cloud native services in the portfolio
Experience and success in negotiating complex deals with customers and partners
Adept at sales management and accountability for growing pipeline and converting opportunities to revenue with a track record of exceeding quota in challenging environments
