Purpose of the position
We are looking for teachers to work with our Instructional Resources team to create amazing experiences for teachers and students that push the boundaries of how students learn in an evolving education climate. You will be responsible for the creation and augmentation of digital lessons and activities for Lumio. You will report to the Manager, Product Management, Software and Services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate and research instructional resources for use by grade 8-12 teachers and students
Create new engaging instructional resources following research-based pedagogical practices with the support of a graphic designer and pedagogy experts
Organize content in a lesson following best pedagogical practices for each topic, age, and grade level
Select image assets for instructional resources and lessons
Organization of content into digestible chunks and cohesive lessons and resources by augmenting content with images, small interactive demonstrations, activities, and videos, as needed
Create metadata to describe digital learning objects and lesson repository, such as descriptions, keywords, and alignment to standards
Review and provide feedback on lessons and instructional resources
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment
This position does not have any direct reports
Performing other duties as required
Education and Work Experience
Studies and/or experience in education/pedagogy or related fields
Must be a certified educator
At least 3 years of experience in creating instructional materials.
Research and organizational skills
Focus on middle school or high school
Experience with creating instructional materials for active learning and blended learning environments
Knowledge of presentation tools, such as PowerPoint or Google Slides
Knowledge of SMART Notebook and Lumio is a plus
Additional Details
Part-time contract position with possibility of extension, flexible hours
