8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm.

Position Summary:

Our 8th Avenue Inventory Associate is responsible for cycle counting raw material, packaging and finished goods as well as assisting the Inventory Coordinator with the coordination of end of month, quarterly, and end-of-year inventory activities. Proactively work with scheduling, warehouse department and procurement to prevent unnecessary aging of materials to prevent loss. Assist Inventory Coordinator in locating and tracking down inventory discrepancies. Work closely with all departments including but not limited to production, quality assurance, distribution centers, and warehouse to identify areas of improvement for inventory accuracy. Assist Inventory Coordinator with tasks pertaining to warehouse inventory including cycle counts, processing discontinued materials, donation and liquidation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage cycle counts for area of concentration: generating cycle count list, daily cycle counting, and cycle count corrections
Root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies, looking for solutions to recurring problems
Respond to count requests from various departments and Inventory Coordinator promptly
Run lot aging reports, escalate aging issues to minimize financial loss
Work with Inventory Coordinator to assist with year-end physical inventory process
Ensure accuracy of transactions
Assist with donation and liquidation processes
Review shipping paperwork, with an emphasis on inventory accuracy
Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed
Other duties, as assigned

Education & Experience Required:

Minimum 2 years experience in inventory control and order management
Demonstrated math skills
Demonstrated computer skills; MS office and email, SharePoint a plus
Experienced with JDE or similar MRP systems
Valid Oregon Drivers license – must be able to legally operate a vehicle on company time
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
1-year experience in manufacturing environment
Experience operating a Forklift, motorized pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks.

Must be able to make fine distinctions by sound
Must be able to distinguish object or equipment visually
