Boeing Commercial Airplane is looking for an engineering manager to join the 737 Program in Renton, WA.

As the Network & Communication Systems Manager, you’ll be involved in every aspect of the program – including product design and roadmap development, lab and flight testing, certification, production, retrofit, and fleet support – all while engaging directly with customers, suppliers, and executive collaborators. You will need to demonstrate your robust network and expand it to begin emerging issues across the business and the globe, and prioritize that talent to build structure, predictability, and engineering rigor. About the role:

The role leads a team with varied strengths, mentoring and guiding them through complex technical, certification, and systems engineering challenges while also representing customer interests. Develops and completes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, team members, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Position Responsibilities:

Handle professional employees performing engineering, certification, and technical activities in the areas of Electronic and Electrical Engineering
Develop and complete project and process plans and set operational goals
Provide technical management of suppliers
Provide leadership and oversight of technical approaches, products and processes
Most importantly, lead, develop and motivate employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
2+ years of experience leading engineering teams
5+ years of experience in aerospace/aviation industry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

3+ years of experience in the development, integration, and verification of aircraft systems
Experience working with system engineering principles
1+ Experience working directly with Boeing suppliers and customers
Previous FAA Certification Experience
Ability to travel up to 10% of work time
Master’s Degree in an engineering related field or Business Administration (MBA)
1+ years of experience in leading teams within an agile work management framework and implementing agile work management
