Position Overview
As a packager your job would consist of packaging coffee and filling orders according to DCR Coffee quality standards, as well as individual customer specifications, examining and inspecting materials and products in order to ensure that packing specifications are met. This position requires you to load materials and products into package processing equipment, as well as maintain organization and cleanliness within the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Label and stage coffee bags for the days production.
Fill bags with appropriate coffee, using a weigh-and-fill machine.
Seal and tape (where applicable) filled coffee bags.
Stage product in its designated area.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Assure quality and accuracy of product at all stages of packaging.
Adhere to Dillanos safety rules and guidelines.
Grind coffee using small grinders and industrial grinder.
Flavor coffee using paddle mixer, as well as bag flavored coffee using weigh-and-fill.
Assist other departments as necessary.
Operate a standup and sit down forklift.
Skills and Physical Demands
Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Resourceful, but knows when to ask for help. Works well within a team, but can operate independently as well. Must possesses strong organizational skills, problem-solving, & attention to detail. Takes pride in one’s work but open to feedback and opportunities for growth and improvement. The ability to continually sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs, as well as comply with Dillanos Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
