A person in this position will determine the molecular basis for cell quiescence, a conserved cell state for long-term survival, using S. cerevisiae and possibly human neuronal stem cells as model organisms. This person will use molecular biological, molecular genetics, biochemical and genomic approaches. These experiments will require extensive experience in these approaches, and therefore Ph.D. is a prerequisite for the position.
A post-doctoral research fellow is available in a lab that studies chromatin, the complex of DNA and proteins that make up our chromosomes, and how its structure controls essential processes that take place on DNA. The responsibilities of this position will be to determine how cell quiescence is achieved using S. cerevisiae and possibly human neuronal stem cells as model organisms.
A Ph.D. in molecular biology, molecular genetics, biochemistry or other scientific discipline is required.
Experience in studying DNA-dependent processes including transcription, DNA replication and DNA damage response is required.
Experience in bioinformatics is preferred.
