Position Details
Position Description
The Department of Bioengineering at University of Washington is looking to fill a position at the Postdoctoral Scholar in the research laboratory of Professor Princess Imoukhuede. This is a full-time position with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30), with the possibility for yearly renewal dependent upon performance and continued funding. The anticipated start date is early winter 2022.
The primary responsibility of the candidate will be developing cell-based affinity assay to measure ligand-receptor binding kinetics of G-protein coupled receptors and tyrosine kinase receptors and their associated ligands. The candidate will be the primary technical expert for ligand-receptor binding characterization, providing technical leadership, assay development, and support for cell-based SPR innovation. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to perform in-vitro cell culture, conduct regular scientific literature searches, and remain up to date on the current scientific literature; attend research seminars, workshops, and conferences; review scientific manuscripts; develop and publish figures, tables, presentations, and manuscripts; and assist with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment and with general maintenance of laboratory. The candidate is expected to be culturally competent with an eagerness to solve biological problems.

Qualifications
Required
A Ph.D.(or foreign equivalent) in a quantitative field.
At least two years’ experience characterizing ligand binding kinetics.
Desired
Experience with surface plasmon resonance (SPR, e.g., Reichert, Biacore, etc.).
