Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Mobility & Surveillance (M&S) division is seeking a Production Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Level K) to join our team located in Tukwila, WA. The ideal candidate will lead a diverse team composed of manufacturing engineers and planners tasked with support for P-8 Poseidon, as well as unique special projects throughout the company due to their specialized skills. This opportunity is in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting a blend of production and modification activity.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering. A team of tooling engineers, manufacturing engineers and planners that directly support the BDS M&S aircraft production, modification and test activities.
Maintain a strong connection with design engineering and manufacturing operations to ensure that the team’s products and services are meeting the needs of the consumer.
Motivate and develop team members. Apply talent management standard methodologies to help people attain their career goals.
Develops and implements project and process plans, policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
Develop, and lead innovation projects to improve factory safety, quality, and/ or efficiency.
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
Monitor team assignments for compliance to first time quality, technical requirements, processes, customer requirements, and scheduling constraints.
Participate in and/or lead M&S division or program level production engineering special projects as required.
Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
As a leader, sets high expectations for the team. Manages, develops and motivates employees.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and team members
Typical working hours will be during day shift, but as this role leads engineers supporting a multi-shift production system, off-shift coverage, including weekends, may occasionally be required.

This position is expected to be the majority onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite based on factory and customer needs at the Tukwila, WA location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s degree or higher in an accredited course of study in engineering or engineering technology.
3+ years of Engineering experience.
3+ years of experience developing, completing, and/or leading technical projects in a production/manufacturing environment supporting program objectives.
Willing to be on call and available for second shift, weekends and/or holidays, when required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5+ years’ experience in Production Engineering, Structures Design and/or Analytical Engineering or a combination of these experiences.
Effective communication with project stakeholders and management around technical status, budgets, and schedule.
Application of formal problem solving methodologies to resolve production issues.
