DESCRIPTIONThe Project Management Office (PMO) ensures that projects are executed effectively and efficiently assuring delivery on time and within budget. The PMO is responsible for developing and maintaining high standards to represent the brand to donors by establishing best-in-class project management methodologies, standards, and tools. This individual communicates to Executive Management on all projects within the program portfolio. The Director of PMO oversees the project management process including governance, team leadership, monitoring, prioritization, communication, and quality controls. The PMO Director should have a proven track record of successful project delivery, an ability to improve project management practices, and substantial team leadership experience.

DUTIES:
Establishes the PMO role and creates a Center of Excellence in alignment with Project Management Institute (PMI) guidelines, quality standards, and company requirements.
Seeks implementation efficiencies to meet or exceed the financial expectations established at project initiation.
Develops, implements, and governs program management processes, dashboards, templates, policies, and metrics.
Monitors compliance with project policies and standards.
Coaches and mentors project management practitioners and shares knowledge of best practices.
Establishes the PMO organization structure, hire and manage project staffing requirements in line with project objectives.
Sets annual performance targets for direct reports and conducts performance reviews.
Oversees Project Managers for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget.
Interfaces with executives to define project priorities, implementation opportunities, challenges, and communicates project risks and opportunities.
Develops and communicates project management standards and best practices
Directs staff, assigning projects and monitoring progress
Identifies, secures and coordinates implementation of internal and external resources and expertise as appropriate to achieve project objectives
Advises Leadership and/or business executives at the highest levels about the project portfolio, including status, issues, risks, and resource planning
Initiates and implements new methodologies, processes, and procedures that will support the organization’s short and long-term goals
Collaborates with functional areas in the supervision of project personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions
Ensures that all projects are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters; negotiates changes in project resources as necessary to achieve objectives and timelines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Reach, bend, kneel and have high level of manual dexterity to lift boxes, carry instruments, pull or push furniture and/or supplies
Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of the time
See, hear and speak with customers and observe equipment operation
Frequently required to make and accept modifications to working processes and procedures as directed by SOP

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE’S EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree or related field experience required
A minimum of 5 years of project management experience preferred.
PMP or PgMP highly desired
