Position : Research Manager
Provide overall administrative, fiscal and operations management for the Research Coordinator Core (RCC) within the Research Institute. Directly supervise a growing team of clinical research coordinators and provide research staff support, guidance and leadership for the conduct of clinical research projects.. Evaluate protocols and partner with investigators to determine project needs, including coordinator staffing and workflow. Oversee RCC operational budget and billing practices, ensuring financial/budgetary health and future growth of RCC services. Create and utilize skills matricies and metrics to inform project assignments and resource allocation. Align research operations across programmatic areas in collaboration with Research Institute leadership to create long-term strategic plans that align with institutional goals. Partner with Research Institute leadership to develop and implement clinical research integration projects, including identifying and building tools, infrastructure and resources necessary for supporting high- quality clinical research. Assess issues and risks impacting RCC productivity and drive continuous improvement efforts. Ensure that the implementation and completion of clinical research research projects are conducted in compliance with federal and state regulations, institutional/departmental guidelines, and standards of Good Clinical Practice.
Required Education/Experience: – Bachelors Degree. – Minimum three (3) years of clinical research experience. – A minimum of five years progressive management experience in a hospital or health care setting. – Demonstrated experience in business planning, financial analysis, and/or strategic planning. Required Credentials: N/A Preferred: – Master’s degree in scientific, medical specialty or equivalent. – Database management skills. – Experience in an academic medical setting – Demonstrated ability to lead in an environment of rapid change. – Experience with Lean and Continuous Process Improvement methodologies. – Past or present professional certification in clinical research (such as ACRP or SoCRA to demonstrate competency in content managed).
