The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Research Specialist for funded research projectsincluding those focused on increasing diversity and reducing health disparities in populations affected by late-life cognitive disorders (e.g. Alzheimer’s). The research specialist will be responsible for participant recruitment, scheduling, data collection, administration of questionnaires and interviews, and tracking of research participants. Responsibilities also include assisting with data management, preparing documents for review by the IRB and other regulatory committees, and supervision of student staff. The research specialist will work collaboratively with the research team and ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and security of all data from collection through to dissemination.
Bachelor’s Degree in a Health Sciences or other relevant field is required, Master’s preferred.The applicant should have 2 years of experience working with diverse populations or anequivalent combination of relevant education and experience.Excellent organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel are required. The research specialist must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate has experience with elderly research participants and cognitively impaired individuals, experience in a research setting, demonstrated data management and analysis skills, and proficiency in scientific writing and creating visual displays of data. He/She should also be able to demonstrate initiative and work independently with superior attention to detail and accuracy. None
