Availability: Monday-Friday; Hours will vary based on school/branch. Must be available for shifts between 6:00-9:30am and 2:30-6:30 pm.Location: Before and/or after school at Utsalady Elementary, 608 Arrowhead Rd, Camano, WA 98282
What you will do at the Y: School-Age Care Assistants teach teamwork and social skills to children in Before and After School settings as they grow and learn. Working directly with youth, ensuring their safety, well-being and development through interactive play and other activities as directed.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise all children and activities within the program area
Implement daily lesson and activity plans
Comply with state and local regulations as well as YMCA standards and procedures
Adhere to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards
Attend and participate in family events, program activities, and staff meetings as directed
Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies
Maintain positive relations with participants, parents and other staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum age 18
Meet educational and experience qualifications established by Dept of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF)
Have a high school diploma or equivalent;
Provide document of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, fully vaccinated for COVID-19/MMR/other required vaccinations*, and portable background check
Plan, organize, and implement high quality developmentally appropriate programming
Fluency in second language preferred
medical or religious exemptions may be possible

Physical Demands: As directed, lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. Staff may be required to move weights of approximately 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
