Job Summary: Under the general direction of the General Manager the New Vehicle Manager is responsible for the New Vehicle Sales Department
Position description: The position requires managerial skills in assuring the New Vehicle Sales Department operates at peak efficiency. Subordinates are to be evaluated, trained assigned duties and monitored for top performance. The New Vehicle Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable planning, organization, direction and control of the Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These include the following duties; however, other duties may be necessarily performed:

Establish goals, objectives, policies and procedures for the department in accordance to overall company goals, core competencies and values
Monitor subordinates’ performance and train as necessary for optimum results
Be responsible for the hiring, training and evaluation of personnel for sales department in accordance with the Organizations’ policies and procedures
Develop and maintain a culture of friendly customer atmosphere including the immediate and satisfactory resolution of customer complaints
Prepare annual plan, establishing staffing patterns, gross sales, category breakdown, cost of sale, marketing/promotional expense giving attention to the profit and loss on all sales, monitoring profitability and making adjustments as necessary in accordance with monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts
Establishes, monitors and supervises all new vehicle inventory, controlling profitable levels, ordering new vehicles as needed, giving attention to rotation of inventory to maximize effective and efficient financing
Works in close cooperation with used vehicle and leasing departments to maximize sales potentials
Conducts weekly sales management meetings, weekly new vehicle sales meetings preparing needed agendas, attends department head meetings and other meetings as called
Assure all business practices are properly maintained
Provide accurate and complete record keeping for all aspects of the assigned operation
Assist in carrying out the Organization’s and Department’s marketing plans
Be responsible for quality control of the department’s activities
Maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with Company’s policies, Federal and State regulations
Assist in preparing and maintaining proper budget and accounting procedures for the Department
Monitor, review blue log, all other logs for accuracy and evaluates all sales associates’ performance training and making adjustments with associates as necessary for peak performance
Ensures desk schedule is followed
Monitors lot activity to minimize lot damage expense
Conducts share of management call backs
Supervises and monitors Greeters functions and schedules
Ensures dealer trades are negotiated favorably and to the Company’s advantage
Develop and maintain strategies for advertising, promotional programs and employee incentive programs

Implements required manufacturer’s factory programs

Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
A high school or equivalent is required. Active working experience with vehicle sales is required.
Knowledge of: automotive operations, sales and service, production systems, automotive technical systems, computer, software and internet operations, personnel supervision strategies, legal requirements for position. Factory training and certification are required.
Skill in: sales strategies, leadership, directing, coaching, analysis, written and verbal communication, mathematics, organizing, reading and understanding, customer service.
Ability to: work with people, work as team member, innovate, direct others, analyze and make informed decisions, work independently, set goals, manage time effectively, follow and support Organization’s goals and objectives.
Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, handle objects, keyboards or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and sit. The employee is required to walk, stoop, kneel, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
