Position : Wireless Network Technician
Description :
Wireless Field Technicians are strong in all the most common and popular wireless technologies. In addition to strong technical aptitudes backed by at least 2 years hands on experience, this person is a good communicator and a person who can manage internal and external customer expectations. Wireless Field Technicians will be skillful at pre-project/work-briefings with internal and external stake holders and customers. This person should then be able to execute with a high degree of success in integrating and/or solving problems in environment with multiple wireless technologies, microwave backhauls and tower site power systems including solar and propane generator-based power systems.
Experience with Cambium and Ubiquiti Wireless systems, Juniper and/or Cisco based network equipment is required.
Position Responsibilities:
Audit wireless tower sites and subscriber networks and report findings in order to move configuration and
equipment towards best practices
Troubleshoot and install wireless subscriber units, access points, and backhaul radios and antennas.
Configuration of new switches, routers and other network components
Installs Access Points and Backhaul antennas on towers and structures using best practice methodology
Create and maintain documentation of system components RF and network attributes as well as site wiring
diagrams
Perform regular quarterly tower site maintenance based on best practices for equipment installed at tower sites
including solar, generator, and wireless systems ensuring all systems are capable of operation in normal and
adverse conditions.
Maintain organization of system components in manufacturer provided user interfaces such as Ubiquiti AirControl
or UNMS, Cambium cnMaestro, and Mimosa portal.
Operation and Maintenance of MDU based wireless systems.
Assessing, reporting, testing, scheduling and performing quarterly updates to all wireless firmware and software
during maintenance window (2am – 6am)
Takes ownership of tasks and follows through to ensure complete resolution

Willingness to perform remote site work up to 5 hours away
Document all work in Teams Office 365 system and technical documentation systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert knowledge base to install and manage OS, administer users accounts, security, configuration, patch
management, updates and configure network connectivity for supported programs.
Comprehensive understanding of configuration and initialization files, error logging, event viewer as they pertain
to software applications. Must be able to gather, organize, analyze and/or potentially resolve software and
hardware issues. Effectively use escalation procedures and able to manage priorities.
Experience required with Windows and Linux desktop operating systems
Strong experience with system security including the management of wireless security and certificates
Extensive network skills and experience including TCP/IP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS. Additionally, the
configuration, management, and troubleshooting of subscriber units, access points, firewalls, switches,
and routers.
Understanding of relationship between subscriber units, access points, power over ethernet, switches,
and routers connecting subscriber to network
Experience with Terminal Services and VPNs
Working Knowledge of Cisco and Juniper Routers and Switches
Working Knowledge of Wireless Subscriber technologies
Must be able to operate and maintain solar power systems, battery backup systems, and generators.
Must be able to climb towers and be certified to climb towers.
Must have valid driver’s license and be able to drive safely in rugged terrain using company vehicles
Credentials and Experience:
Requires a minimum of two years of experience in the service industry, preferably critical, customer service
experience
Technical Degree or Certificate in Electronics Field
Minimum 1 years’ experience – Cisco Switching, VLAN, Routing, Firewalling Support
Minimum 1 years’ experience – Ubiquiti, Cambium, and/or Mimosa Point to Multipoint and Point to Point wireless
support
Has at least one current standard industry certification or obtains certification in 6 months. The following
certifications are preferred: Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, Cisco CCNA/CCDA/CCNP
Solid dependable technician, follows directions and maximizes efficient use of technology to maintain high levels
of reliability
Consistently receives good feedback from internal and external customers
Valid Driver’s License
Tower Climbing certificate
